LADY JUSTICE – THEMIS
Themis means “divine law” evoking social order, is the goddess and personification of justice, divine order, law, and custom.
Latvia has a strong honourable military history defeating international agression to achieve independence and self determination – Freedom.
The three stars replicate the three stars of Latvia’s Freedom Monument unveiled on 18 November 1935, financed entirely from public donations so is a representation of paramount Latvian values.
This logo emphasises how defending the rule of law in Latvia is central to the purpose of Latvian defence force personnel – a basic requirement for all Latvians in a free, modern, prosperous Latvia.
